Intro to Kizomba

Designed for newcomers , this class will introduce you to Kizomba (a partner dance that originates from Angola, Africa). With guided instruction, and exercises, you will be helped to establish good fundamentals, body movement, connection and lead/follow technique. We will also introduce basic steps and additional movements, time permitting. Social dance to follow with light refreshments included!
About the instructor:
Mike David, is co-organizer of Steel City Kizomba Festival, and owner and director of Steel City Kizomba, a dance company based in Pittsburgh, PA that teaches and promotes African dance and culture in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. He has trained nationally and internationally in Kizomba and Semba, plus other African dances such as Soukous, Chakacha, Afrohouse. He’s also completed the Semba instructor course by the Fantastic 4 (Paulo, Lanna, Miguel, Susana) in Lisbon, Portugal, as well as the Kizomba and Semba Teacher training course with Mestre Petchu. Mike is known in the dance community for his smooth style and love of music and dance.
